Nurses who complete the Nursing Skills and Theory Review course are able to complete an 80 hour clinical practicum for additional experience and to meet Minnesota Board of Nursing re-registration requirements.
Clinical hours may be accrued through virtual patient simulations or a facility-approved experience with an RN preceptor arranged by the refresher nurse.
Requirements:
- Completed the Nursing Skills and Theory Review course
- Current or temporary nursing license from the Minnesota Board of Nursing. To obtain the temporary permit, mail Statement of Intent to Participate in a Refresher course for Reregistration/Endorsement form to: Anoka Technical College, Attn: Laura Cleveland, 1355 West Hwy 10, Anoka MN 55303 . This form is available from the Minnesota Board of Nursing once you’ve filed for reregistration.
- Virtual Clinical Practicum students: required additional $79.96 fee for online software subscription. Link to purchase will be sent one week before start date.
- Facility Clinical Practicum students: background study (additional $53.50 fee), American Heart Association BLS certification card, immunization records and proof of negative tuberculosis screening tests as required by site. Agreement by site to host student and provide RN preceptor. College must approve site and student must complete all facility required learning/orientation.
*Please note: If you are required by the MN Board of Nursing to complete a Nurse Refresher course, you must complete both Nursing Skills and Theory Review and Nurse Refresher Practicum.
