New in 2022 – Community Paramedic

Starting in 2022, Anoka Technical College will be enrolling paramedics into a 6-8 month program to earn Community Paramedic (CP) certification. Individuals will receive advanced training in primary and preventive care. Topics include health assessment, specimen collection, minor medical procedures, medication management, chronic disease education and monitoring, immunizations and hospital discharge follow up. Working under the direction of an ambulance medical director, a community paramedic serves an important role in preventing hospital readmission and the use of emergency departments.

Program requirements: Currently certified paramedic with two years of full-time service as a paramedic (or part-time equivalent)

Anoka Technical College is an approved Community Paramedic education program by the Minnesota Emergency Medical Services Regulatory Board (EMSRB).
