American Heart Association BLS Hands-on Skills

Study to become BLS Certified at a time that is convenient for you. Our training combines online coursework with in-person skill practice and testing. Follow these three easy steps to become certified.

1. Go to the American Heart Association and register and pay for the following class:

a) HeartCode BLS (Basic Life Support): Designed for healthcare providers, this training will teach single-rescuer and team basic life support for adults, children, and infants including recognizing life-threatening emergencies, giving CPR, delivering ventilation, using an AED, and relief of choking. $28.50 https://shopcpr.heart.org/courses/bls

2. Within 60 days, complete the online course and print your certificate of completion.

3. Register and attend this BLS Skills Certification Session for hands-on skills practice and certification testing with an AHA instructor. 

*Be sure to bring your certificate of completion for the online training with you or you will not be able to test out. You must have taken the online training within 60 days of testing.

Upon successful completion, you will receive AHA certification that is valid for 2 years.

Bring to Class:

If you are not feeling well or have any of the following signs or symptoms, please call 763-433-1200 and reschedule your test date: fever, new or worsening cough or shortness of breath, loss of taste or smell, chills, headache, sore throat, or muscle pain. You will not be permitted on campus if you have any of these signs or symptoms. The day of the class, please answer this health questionnaire to be permitted on campus:  COVID19 PWT Health Screening

You are required to bring a cloth face covering (mask) and wear it the entire time on campus. Any mask is acceptable as long as your nose and mouth are fully covered. Park at the side entrance of campus (no parking pass needed) just off Highway 10. Enter door S-3 and wash your hands with soap and water. Sign in at the desk and go down the hallway to the left, Room 169.

To cancel or reschedule, you must notify us 7 days before your scheduled class start date. No refund will be issued after that point for any reason.
