- Duration: 24 hours
The OSHA Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response Standard applies to employers and their employees who are exposed, or have the potential for exposure, to hazardous substances including hazardous waste in the workplace, and who are engaged in operations outlined in 29 CFR 1910.120(a)(1)(i-v) and 29 CFR 1926.65(a)(1)(i-v). This course meets current OSHA requirements for 24-hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response training courses. Affected personnel who require this training include: – Workers on site only occasionally for a specific limited task (ex., ground water monitoring, land surveying, or geophysical surveying) and who are unlikely to be exposed over permissible exposure limits (PEL) and published exposure limits. – Workers regularly on site who work in areas which have been monitored and fully characterized indicating exposures are under PELs where respirators are not necessary, and there is no chance of health hazards or an emergency developing. – Managers of workers characterized in the previous two examples.
