Emergency Medical Responders (formerly “First Responders”) manage patient care at the scene of trauma or medical emergencies until advanced medical personnel arrive. In this hybrid course, students will complete online content modules and attend classroom skill sessions with a certified instructor until knowledge and skill competencies are met.
This course is based on guidelines established by the U.S. DOT and meets requirements of the Minnesota Office of Emergency Medical Services (OEMS). It is intended for law enforcement, firefighters, ambulance and rescue personnel, ski patrol, athletic coaches, school nurses, camp counselors, industrial emergency response team members, and other individuals charged with “first response” duties.
Class: April 1 – October 31, 2026
– Online coursework is self-paced.
– Attend skill lab days at Anoka Technical College until all course skill competencies are met.
Skill day options: April 15, 29, May 6 | 12:00 – 3:00 pm
