The demand for pilots of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV’s) or drones is growing rapidly. Drones are in high demand for real estate, tower and utility inspection, storm damage assessment, public safety, disaster recovery, deliver, land mapping and film and television.
Anoka Technical College is proud to partner with Sky Eye Films to train pilots for these exciting careers. This course details everything you will need to know to pass the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certification exam to operate a drone for commercial uses.
Classes are September 14-18 from 5:30 -8:30 pm daily via zoom conference call and online learning materials. Additionally, each enrolled student will also receive a trainer drone to begin their hands-on flight training.
This 5 day online course prepares students to pass the FAA Remote Pilot Certificate exam which allows drone pilots to operate commercially. Major topics of this exam include regulations, understanding the national airspace, weather systems, airport operations, aeronautical decision making and real world flight and operation instruction.
This course is conducted 100% online through video calls and web access to all training materials. An access code and shipment confirmation is sent after successful registration.
The FAA requires a separate testing fee of $150 per occurrence. A smartphone from the following list is required to control the trainer drone received.
