This American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support Instructor course is the core educational foundation for all American Heart Association instructors to effectively deliver and provide consistent CPR training. This, plus discipline specific courses, allows instructors to achieve consistency and uniformity in their presentation of course material. This course provides instructor candidates with the knowledge and skills necessary to teach BLS provider courses and Heartsaver First Aid and CPR courses for lay rescuers.

Important: New instructor candidates must provide a current AHA BLS Provider card and complete BLS Instructor Essentials Online, prior to class (additional cost, $38, register through AHA’s website.) Please bring a copy of the certificate of completion to class.

Course Textbook: The BLS Instructor Manual and other instructor resources are available at .

Membership to an AHA Community Training Center (CTC) is required; the fee is not included in the course.
