This American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support Instructor course is a review of the core educational foundation for all American Heart Association instructors to effectively deliver and provide consistent CPR training. This, plus discipline specific courses, allows instructors to achieve consistency and uniformity in their presentation of course material. This course provides instructor candidates with the knowledge and skills necessary to teach BLS provider courses and Heartsaver First Aid and CPR courses for lay rescuers.
Prerequisite: Instructor candidates must provide a current AHA BLS Instructor card
Membership to an AHA Community Training Center (CTC) is required; the fee is not included in the course.

Complete the 2025 BLS Instructor Update and Product & Course Orientation Bundle on eLearning.Heart.org. If you also teach Heartsaver classes, complete the Heartsaver Instructor Update and Product and Course Orientation Bundle as well.
