This American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support Instructor course is the core educational foundation for all American Heart Association instructors to effectively deliver and provide consistent CPR training. It provides instructor candidates with the knowledge and skills necessary to teach BLS provider courses and Heartsaver First Aid and CPR courses for lay rescuers.
Prerequisites: New instructor candidates must provide a current AHA BLS Provider card and complete the AHA online core curriculum, BLS Instructor Essentials, prior to class (additional cost).
Membership to an AHA Community Training Center (CTC) is required; the fee is not included in the course. Upon successful completion of the course and monitoring of a class, certification will be issued. Refresher training is required every two years.
