This Refresher Program is approved by the Minnesota Board of Nursing and has been designed to provide continuing education in nursing theory and clinical skills to Practical Nurses and Registered Nurses after a lapse in licensure or period of time out of practice. The Refresher Nurse will independently study modules in an online format and demonstrate hands-on clinical skill competencies. Topics will include anatomy and physiology, pathology, pharmacology, life cycle, medication administration, documentation, and nursing practice.
Upon completion of the skill and theory review coursework, nurses will arrange for a healthcare facility to host them for an 80-hour clinical practicum experience.
